Rite Aid shopper alleges rug, cord caused her to trip

GRETNA – A woman claims that she tripped on a rug at pharmacy and was injured.

Sonya Pennino filed a suit against K&B Louisiana Corp., doing business as Rite Aid, Duncan & Thompson Construction Services LLC and Amerisure Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 28.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall on Feb. 26 when she was at the Rite Aid at 725 Veterans Memorial Blvd. due to a rug and extension cord that she claims created a hazard.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by George B. Recile and Barry W. Sartin of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murrary, Recile, Stakelam & Hayes in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
