Pump operator alleges he was wrongfully terminated by Alliance Energy Services for reporting violations

NEW ORLEANS – A Mississippi man alleges he was terminated by his Larose employer for reporting environmental law violations to his supervisors.

Ronnie T. Bates filed a complaint on Nov. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Alliance Energy Services LLC alleging that the former employer violated the Louisiana Environmental Whistleblower Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 8, he was terminated from his employment. The plaintiff holds Alliance Energy Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly wrongfully terminated him for reporting violations of environmental laws and regulations, refusing to participate in unlawful conduct and engaging in other protected activities. As a direct result, he alleges he has suffered and continues to suffer lost wages and benefits, mental anguish and emotional distress and other economic and non-economic damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, trebled damages, reinstatement, attorneys’ fees, court costs and all other reasonable relief. He is represented by Hugh P. Lambert, Cayce C. Peterson, Jacki Smith and Morgan Embleton of The Lambert Firm PLC in New Orleans and R. Brent Cuera of Cueria Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.
