Widow accuses AIG of breaching contract

GRETNA – A widow is suing an insurance provider, alleging breach of contract regarding the death of her husband.

Pamela Bean filed a suit Dec. 6 against American General Life Insurance Company (AIG) in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, the plaintiff's husband, Daniel Clifton Bean, had a life insurance policy with the defendant. The suit states Pamela Bean was entitled to more than $400,000 upon the death of her husband. The lawsuit alleges AIG has failed to acknowledge that the policyholder had sent checks to AIG despite having deposited the funds.

Pamela Bean seeks the $400,000 owed, attorney fees and court costs. She is is represented by attorney G. Patrick Hand III of The Hand Law Firm in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
