NEW ORLEANS – A worker alleges he was injured on the job when a cable tray struck him.

Noel Cardoso-Gonzalez filed a complaint on Nov. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Anadarko Petroleum Corp., W-Industries of Louisiana LLC, Dolphin Services Inc., Gulf South Services Inc. and Safezone Safety Systems LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in Aug. 13, he was employed by a third party and was performing his assigned duties on the premises owned and/or operated by the defendants, when suddenly and without warning, he was caused to sustain severe and disabling injuries when he fell after being struck by a cable tray above him. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to ensure that the equipment was in a safe condition, failed to warn him of the dangerous and unsafe conditions of the premises and failed to hire properly trained and skilled employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages in an amount to be determined at trial, plus interest, attorney’s fees, costs and for any other relief to which the law may provide. He is represented by Lawrence Blake Jones, Julie Sumrall and David C. Whitmore of Scheuermann & Jones LLC in New Orleans.
