Willie's Chicken Shack employees seek allegedly unpaid overtime wages

Law money 13

NEW ORLEANS – Two former Willie's Chicken Shack employees have filed a class-action suit alleging they were not paid overtime wages.

Tiffany Sauls and Heather Arnoult, on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Nov. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Willie's Chicken Shack LLC, Diamond Bourbon Inc. Willie's Canal LLC, Willie's Decatur LLC, et al., alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they routinely worked for defendants' Willie’s Chicken Shack restaurants for more than 40 hours per week, but were not paid overtime for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The plaintiffs holds Willie's Chicken Shack LLC, Diamond Bourbon Inc. Willie's Canal LLC, Willie's Decatur LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly operated in a concerted scheme of transferring employees from one store to another to reduce compensation owed to employees for overtime work.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensation for all unpaid overtime wages, plus interest, liquidated damages and monetary penalties, litigation costs and such other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Christopher L. Williams of Williams Litigation LLC in New Orleans and Jody Forester Jackson and Mary Bubbett Jackson of Jackson + Jackson in New Orleans.
