GRETNA – Jefferson Parish residents are suing an attorney and a law firm, claiming that the firm wronged them.
Amy Karim, Louise Levin and Charles Wagner Jr. filed a suit against Joseph Lopinto III, Lopinto Law Firm LLC and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs' decedent, Josephine Grieshaber Wager, was allegedly visually impaired. The defendants claimed that her inability to see prevented her from being able to read a testament and sign her name. The testament allegedly lacked the formalities and attestation clause required, and the defendants allegedly drafted an defective notarial testament, which Lopinto notarized.
The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Jacques F. Bezou and Jacques F. Bezou Jr of Bezou Law Firm in Covington.
The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
