Orleans Parish homeowner alleges house was poorly constructed

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is suing an investment group and insurers, alleging she is due is damages for a defective home.

Carolyn Mangham filed a lawsuit Dec. 13  against Nola Property Investment Group Inc and ABC Insurance Company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence and breach of contract through failing to complete the work in a responsible and workmanlike manner.

According to the complaint, Mangham purchased a home a 1212 Poland Ave., New Orleans that was constructed by the defendant. The suit states that after she moved in, she began to notice structural issues with the home that were due to the defendants' negligence, including moisture that was buckling the floors.

Mangham seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is is represented by attorneys Kathryn M. Caraway and Ann Marie LeBlanc of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-12173.
