BATON ROUGE — A general superintendent is suing Coastal Bridge Company LLC, a former employer, citing alleged age discrimination, hostile work environment and retaliation.

Steve Bankston filed a complaint on Dec. 5, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Coastal Bridge Company LLC alleging that the former employer violated the Age Discrimination Act and the Family Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on March 7, he was terminated from his employment. As a result, he has incurred loss wages and benefits and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Coastal Bridge Company LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected him to adverse employment actions, interfered with his right to extend leave for medical treatment, retaliated against him and terminated his employment for raising age discrimination issues.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reinstatement of his employment, compensatory damages of $350,000, litigation costs and all other relief deemed just and proper. He is represented by William E. Goodwin of William E. Goodwin Attorney at Law in McComb, Mississippi.
