GRETNA – A customer is suing a camper business, alleging he was sold a defective mobile home.

Charles Bloodworth Jr. filed a lawsuit Dec. 22 against Forest River Inc. and Jeff Couch's Campers LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging failure to repair a defective mobile home.

According to the claim, Bloodworth purchased a new mobile home from the defendant Dec. 6, 2015, and the home was delivered to 9125 5th St, River Ridge on Dec. 23, 2015. Including delivery charges, the cost was more than $40,000, the suit states.

The suit says Bloodworth and his family moved into the mobile home Dec. 24, 2015, and began to see defects. The plaintiff says he sent the general manager of Forest River Inc. footage and pictures of the damages, including water leaks. The suit states the defendant failed to make timely repairs to the home until April 2016.

After receiving the allegedly repaired mobile home, the lawsuit states, Bloodworth found that many of the defects had not been repaired. The date for a replacement mobile home was delayed multiple times, the suit says, and the plaintiff has not received a replacement. In addition, the lawsuit says, he has suffered $31,518.33 in housing costs and $8,240.25 in meal costs, due to the damages of the mobile home.

The suit says the defendant failed to perform the repairs in a timely manner and failed to reimburse the plaintiff what he deserved.

Bloodworth seeks damages to be determined at trial, plus court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Steven M. Spiegel of Madisonville.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767675.
