Tenant alleges poorly maintained apartment complex led to injury

GRETNA – A tenant is suing her Harvey apartment complex, alleging a dangerous situation caused her to fall and be injured.

Ladria Petty filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 against CK MultiFamily Management LLC, doing business as St. Germaine Apartments, and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Petty, a resident of the St. Germaine Apartments, 2201 Manhattan Blvd, Harvey, was caused to trip and fall Jan. 22, 2016, sustaining injuries.

The suit says the defendant was negligent in failing to maintain the property, failing to warn of the danger or protect tenants, as well as acts of omission.

Petty seeks damages for injuries and medical expenses, as well as attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Jon M. Yeager, Anthony V. Lanasa Jr., Mark G. Tauzier and Lauren A. Duncan of Yeager, Lanasa, Tauzier LLC of Hammond.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767954.
