NEW ORLEANS – A transportation service is accused of injuring a woman on two separate occasions while she was a passenger.
Gwendolyn A. Palmer for the estate of Audrey C.L. McCormick filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 against Veolia Transportation Corp., doing business Regional Transit Authority and Regional Transit Authority Lift Disable Service, and the unknown name of the driver and employee of Regional Transit Authority in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, McCormick was riding her motorized scooter on Jan. 6, 2016, as a passenger of the defendants when the incident occurred. The suit states that as the plaintiff was a passenger, the van took a sharp turn, throwing the plaintiff from her scooter and resulting in injuries. The suit states that on Jan. 8, 2016, a similar incident occurred that caused major damages to McCormick, including bruised ribs, hips and inducing a state of shock.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. Palmer is representing herself.
