Customer alleges insurance company refused to reimburse for stolen car

Insurance 05

NEW ORLEANS – A customer is suing his insurance company, alleging failure to reimburse him for his stolen car.

Charles Fair filed a lawsuit Jan. 11 against Nationwide Affinity Insurance Company of North America in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff purchased an insurance policy for his car in August 2016. The suit states Fair's car was stolen Oct. 15, 2016, and that the plaintiff filed a police report as well as a report to his insurance company. The lawsuit says Nationwide Affinity denied Fair's demand and has refused to make any reparation for the plaintiff's loss.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract through failing to pay the plaintiff for the loss of his vehicle.

Fair seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. He is represented by attorney Oliver Hadley of Oliver Hadley Law LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
