Contractor alleges illegal termination of contract

Contract 10

NEW ORLEANS – A contractor is suing an employer, alleging their contract was terminated following the completion of the plaintiff's work.

WR Contractors LLC filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 against Construction Master Inc. and Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract and failure to pay promptly.

According to the complaint, WR Contractors was subcontracted to perform certain structural concrete repairs in addition to other work on a project for the cost of $889,796. The suit states the plaintiff's work exceeded the monetary amount in the original agreement.

The lawsuit says the defendant terminated the agreement without good cause, as all of the work done by the plaintiff had been completed in a satisfactory manner.

WR Contractors seeks all owed money, reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Keith L. Magness of the Law Office of Keith L. Magness LLC in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
