GRETNA – An Orleans Parish woman is suing Rooms to Go, alleging the defendant's negligence caused her to fall.
Lynetta Rhodes filed a suit Jan. 31 against Rooms To Go Louisiana Corp., Westside South Partners, A Partnership in Commendam, Gretna Realty Associates LLC and XYZ Insurance Company in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.
According to the claim, Rhodes was a guest at the Rooms To Go, 62 Westbank Expressway, Gretna on Jan. 30, 2016. The suit states Rhodes was picking up her furniture and that while working with a store employee she was caused to fall and sustain injuries to her knee, stomach, back and neck.
The defendants are accused of negligently failing to take the proper care in their actions, failing to ensure the property was safe for customers and failing to create a reasonably safe environment for customers.
Rhodes seeks all reasonable damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney G. Karl Bernard of G. Karl Bernard & Associates LLC in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
