NEW ORLEANS – A woman alleges she was injured while working aboard a vessel.
Rhenette Pitre Sevin filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Legacy Leader LLC, Offshore Service Vessels LLC, Galliano Marine Service LLC and Maersk Drilling USA Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 2, 2016, she was injured in a work-related accident which took place aboard the OSV Clarence Triche, when she was struck by a pressurized hose. Plaintiff's injuries allegedly caused her to suffer physical and mental pain, loss of earnings and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Legacy Leader LLC, Offshore Service Vessels LLC, Galliano Marine Service LLC and Maersk Drilling USA Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to adhere to the safety standards and procedures aboard the vessel, failed to provide adequate equipment and crew and failed to properly supervise the work methods of their employees.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in an amount to be determined at trial, plus interest, costs of this suit and all other relief that is necessary. She is represented by Philip F. Cossich Jr., David A. Parsiola, Brandon J. Taylor and Andrew J. Cvitanovic of Cossich Sumich Parsiola & Taylor LLC in Belle Chasse and Kirk Myers of Harrington & Myers in Metairie.
