GRETNA – An Orleans Parish customer is suing Macy's, alleging the store negligently allowed a mannequin to fall on the plaintiff.

Troy Johnson filed a lawsuit Feb. 2 against Lakeside Shopping Center, Macy's Inc, and XYZ Insurance Company in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Johnson was a guest at the Lakeside Shopping Center on Feb. 2, 2016. The suit states Johnson was injured when a mannequin fell on him while he was shopping in Macy's. The suit says Johnson suffered physical injuries that are still plaguing him.

The defendants are accused of negligently failing to properly display the mannequin in a location that would not put customers at risk, failing to properly train employees and failing to take the necessary steps to prevent injuries to the plaintiff.

Johnson seeks all reasonable damages, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney James P. Johnson of James P. Johnson and Associates LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.

24th Judicial District Court Case number 768710.
