NW State University alleges student owes more than $1,000

GRETNA – A university is suing a student, alleging failure to pay sums due.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through Northwestern State University, filed a suit Feb. 10 against Sharan Youngblood in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the claim, the university allowed Youngblood to attend its institution for the summer 2009 semester. During her attendance, the defendant accumulated a balance of $1,046.90. The suit states she has failed to pay off the balance owed.

Northwestern State University seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Wendy Ranmarine of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 768977.
