Jefferson Parish woman blames city of Jenner for fall

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing the city of Jenner and others, seeking damages for a trip and fall.

Gretchen Couvillion filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 against the city of Jenner, Onshore Materials LLC and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Couvillion was at the defendant's property on Erlanger Street, in Jenner on July 7, 2016. The suit states Couvillion tripped and fell on a wire that had been left on the premises and suffered injuries.

The defendants are accused of negligently failing to manage the site, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence in lack of management to the property.

Couvillion seeks all reasonable damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Victor T. Cubb of Brian T. Carr & Associates in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 760609.
