Customer blames bar for fall from mechanical bull

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman is suing owners of a New Orleans bar, alleging negligence caused her be thrown from a mechanical bull.

Kim Moten filed a lawsuit Jan. 16 against 516 Enterprises LLC and Chrysochoos Group LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 17, 2016, Moten was a guest at the defendant's property, The Swamp, 241 Bourbon St., New Orleans. The suit states Moten was riding on the bar's mechanical bull when she was thrown from it, causing injuries to her head, neck, shoulders, arm, ankle and other body parts.

The defendants are accused of negligently failing to ensure that the bull was safe for customers, setting the bull on an overly high setting and overall negligence in the management of their property.

Moten seeks reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Al J. Robert Jr., of the Law Offices of Al J. Robert Jr LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
