University seeks overdue $8,000 payment

GRETNA – A university is suing a former student, alleging an unpaid balance of $8,000.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through Nicholls State University, filed a suit March 6 against Warren M. Lennix and Best Chevrolet Inc., as garnishee, in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging sums due.

According to the claim, Lennix is indebted to the plaintiff for the balance of $8,001.85. The suit states Nicholls State has reason to believe Best Chevrolet is either employing Lennix or indebted to him.

Nicholls State seeks full payment of all sums due, plus interest, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney Meghan N. Beal of The Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
