Financial company alleges customer owes more than $1,500

NEW ORLEANS – A financial service company is suing a customer, alleging she owes more than $1,500.

Delta Financial Service of Terrebonne Inc. filed a lawsuit March 8 against Joann Hawkins in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging sums due.

According to the complaint, Delta is owed funds by Hawkins for the balance of $1,569.83, plus interest and fees. The suit says the plaintiff has reason to believe Hawkins is employed by School Food and Nutrition Services of New Orleans Inc., which should be made a garnishee.

Delta Financial seeks money owed, damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Dennis J. Elfert of Holma.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
