Woman sues over injury at Metairie eatery

GRETNA – A woman claims that she suffered injuries after slipping and falling on a wet floor at a Metairie restaurant.

Terri Landry filed a suit March 10 against Bravo Brio Restaurant Group Inc. and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is a resident of St. Tammany Parish and was a guest on the defendant's property, the Bravo Cucina Italiana Restaurant at 3414 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, when the incident occurred on Oct. 26, 2016. The suit says that the plaintiff slipped and fell on a liquid that had been left on the ground near the service bar.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain the property, failing to clean up the liquid or warn of the danger, failing to properly train employees and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jack Truitt of The Truitt Law Firm LLC in Covington.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry Sullivan Jr.
