Jefferson Parish woman says Whole Foods failed to warn of water on floor

GRETNA – A woman claims that she slipped and fell in rainwater while at a grocery store.

Heather Schumacher of Jefferson Parish filed a suit March 28 against Whole Foods Company Inc., in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, on April 15, 2016, the plaintiff was at the Whole Foods at 3420 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when she was caused to slip and fall in a puddle of rainwater that had been left in one of the aisles.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to clean up the store and failing to warn of the danger.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Andrew Schwing of The Law Office of Andrew R. Schwing in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 770486.
