Whitney Bank claims that Jefferson Parish residents overdrafted account

GRETNA – A bank is seeking damages for an overdrafted account.

Whitney Bank filed a suit April 4 against Oscar Vega and Sandra Garay, both of Jefferson Parish, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging overdraft account.

According to the claim, the defendants took out a deposit agreement with the plaintiff and were required to pay the balance of $805.77, as well as $400 in interest. The defendants have failed to pay off the balance due.

The defendant is accused of failing to pay the plaintiff what they owe.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Dale Powers of Powers, Sellers & Chapoton LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 770673.
