Northwester State alleges Orleans Parish student failed to pay for attending classes

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for an open account.

University of Louisiana system board of supervisors through Northwestern State University filed a lawsuit April 3 against Christopher Russell of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued or services to the defendant. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay of off the balance accumulated of $3,522.55 for summer 2013 classes.

The defendant is accused of open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Meghan N. Beal of Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.

Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 17-3121.
