University of New Orleans claims man owes over $4,000 on promissory note

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for sums due.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit April 10 against Denny R. Lenormand of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging sums due on a promissory note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued the defendant promissory note for the balance of $4,701.48. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance and is indebted to the plaintiff for the full sum plus interest.

The defendant is accused of an overdue payment to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Meghan N. Beal of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
