Pedestrians claim they were struck by Regional Transit Authority bus

NEW ORLEANS – Two individuals are seeking damages after being hit by a bus while walking.

Katharine L. Eddy-Macintosh and Jerry Serrata filed a lawsuit April 6 against Regional Transit Authority, Transdev Services Inc. and Robin Colley in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs were pedestrians on April 7, 2016. The suit states that as the plaintiffs were crossing the road at Carondelet and Canal streets when they were struck by the bus.

The defendants are accused of failing to keep a proper lookout, reckless handling of a motor vehicle and overall failure to control the situation in a proper manner.

The plaintiffs seek all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. They are represented by attorney Albert A. Thibodeaux of Davillier Law Group LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
