Jefferson Parish contractor claim he was attacked by pit bull

GRETNA – A man claims that he was attacked by a pit bull while working.

Chris S. Winter Sr. filed a suit April 17 against ABC Insurance Co., Elizabeth J. Foret, Vance LeBlanc and the Parish of Jefferson in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff, a resident of Jefferson Parish, was working as a contractor on April 18, 2016, at 500 Saint Ann St., Marrero, when a pit bull jumped over a 4-foot fence and attacked him. The suit states that the pit bull was owned by the defendants who were negligent in keeping him contained and under control.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to properly supervise and maintain the dog in their property, failing to warn of the danger that the dog posed and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Berit C. Hanna of the Hanna Law Office in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771083.
