Woman claims her foot was injured at New Orleans Lowe's

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages, claiming that she was injured when a tile fell on her foot.

Leslie Ellison filed a lawsuit April 19 against Lowe's and ABC Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff, a resident of Orleans Parish, was at the Lowe's located at 5770 Read Blvd., New Orleans on April 21, 2016. The suit states that as the plaintiff was reaching for a tile, the item fell on her foot, injuring her.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger, place appropriate warnings or providing the plaintiff with the assistance needed to avoid such injuries.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney James J. Carter of Carter & McKee LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
