American Express seeking damages for Orleans Parish woman's open account of nearly $30,000

NEW ORLEANS – American Express Bank, FSB is seeking payment of sums due.

American Express Bank filed a lawsuit April 24 against Valerie Teal of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued the defendant a credit card which she used to accumulate a balance of $28,143.83. The defendant has failed to pay off the balance.

The defendant is accused of open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Jason Olivier of The Degrasse Law Firm PC in Mandeville.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
