The Crazy Lobster & Grill accused of leaving floor grate in dangerous position

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages for a trip and fall at a restaurant.

Anne Thompson filed a lawsuit April 25 against Indian Harbor Insurance Co., Tumulo Enterprises Inc. and A Bar and Grill With a Bite Inc., doing business as The Crazy Lobster & Grill, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a guest at The Crazy Lobster & Grill at 500 Port of New Orleans, Suite 83, New Orleans, when the incident occurred on May 21, 2016. The plaintiff allegedly tripped and fell over a floor grate that had been left in a dangerous position.

The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to warn about the grate, failing to leave it in a safe position and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Jonathan P. Friedman of Silbert, Garon, Pitre & Friedman in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
