Jefferson Parish resident allegedly owes over $800 to university

GRETNA – A university is seeking damages for an open account.

University of Louisiana system board of supervisors through Southeaster Louisiana University filed a suit May 9 against Shelbi Winstead of Jefferson Parish in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging open account.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account of $840.75. The suit states that the defendant failed to pay the institution for the goods and/or services provided.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Wendy Ramnarine, assistant attorney general.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771927.
