Woman claims she slipped and fell in a New Orleans Walmart

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages for an incident in which she slipped and fell at an Orleans Parish Walmart.

Tracy L. Patterson of Orleans Parish filed a lawsuit May 9 against Wal-Mart Stores East Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a customer at the Walmart located at 4001 Behrman Place, New Orleans, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff slipped and fell on liquid that had been left on the ground in the bathroom. The fall allegedly resulted in pain and injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to place warning signs concerning the spill and failing to clean up the mess to prevent such injuries.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Troy R. Keller in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
