Jefferson Parish woman claims she fell in puddle at Applebee's

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman allegedly was caused to slip and fall in an Applebee's.

Lana Martin filed a suit May 26 against Applebee's Grill and Bar, Southern River Restaurants LLC and Louisiana Companies Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the Applebee's located at the Elmwood shopping center on May 28, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall in a puddle of water as the hostess was showing her to her table.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to maintain the restaurant in a safe manner, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by James P. Johnson of James P. Johnson and Associates LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
