Woman claims Audubon Village Apartments failed to repair broken stairs

GRETNA – A woman claims that an apartment complex's negligent management was responsible for her fall.

Dionne Phenix filed a suit May 22 against Audubon Village Apartments, Mobile Mini Inc. and ABC Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a tenant at the defendant's property 1433 Utah Beach Drive, Bridge City. The suit states that on May 29, 2016, the plaintiff was injured when the stairs at her apartment collapsed and she fell.

The defendant is accused of negligence of management by failing to repair the damaged stairs, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by Julie-Ann A. Duhe'Keating and Amanda B. Rizzo of The Keating Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
