Orleans Parish woman says she was injured removing ring from finger

GRETNA – An Orleans Parish woman claims she was injured at a jewelry store.

Tamika Saul filed a suit June 1 against XI Insurance America Inc. and Sterling Jewelers Inc., doing business as Kay Jewelers Inc., in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's location of 197 Westbank Expressway, Suite 1645 in Gretna on June 20, 2016, when the incident took place. The suit states that while the plaintiff was removing a ring from her finger, she was injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to provide the plaintiff with a safe experience, failing to provide sufficient help and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Leonard J. Cline in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
