Jefferson Parish woman accuses clinic of negligence after slip and fall

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman claims that she fell when getting onto a medical table.

Patryce Jenkins filed a suit June 1 against Bone and Joint Clinic LLC and Dr. Daniel Gallagher in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a patient of the defendant June 27, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was asked to get on a table but when she tried, she slipped and fell. The plaintiff was sent to West Jefferson Medical Center, where she was treated for a concussion, back sprain, back strain and a shoulder contusion.

The defendant is accused of gross negligence for failing to properly ensure the safety of the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Richard T. Gallagher Jr., in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
