Orleans Parish woman seeks damages for fall in parking lot

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman claims that she was caused to trip and fall in a parking lot.

Natalie Rideau filed a lawsuit June 20 against Hillstone Restaurant Group Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.  

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the defendant's property at 1755 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans on Aug. 3, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff fell due to a packing strap that had been left in the parking lot. The plaintiff's claims she had to seek physical therapy and undergo surgery for a fractured patella.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to keep the parking lot safe for guests, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Charles D. Marshall III of Chaffe McCall LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
