Canadian man claims glass door at Le Pavillon Hotel injured him when it fell

NEW ORLEANS – A man from Ontario, Canada, claims that he was injured when a glass door fell on him.

Allan Friedland filed a lawsuit June 22 against Le Pavillon, an ordinary partnership, Ashford LE Pavillon LP and Brothers Property Management Corp. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the defendant's hotel on Oct. 16, 2016, when the incident took place. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when the sliding glass door in his room fell from the hinges and struck him.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to ensure that the hardware was working properly and failing to warn the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Austin Marks of Morris Bart LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
