LAFAYETTE – A Vermilion Parish man claims that his former employers failed to pay him commissions he earned.
Dwight Brasseaux filed a complaint on June 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette Division against Jason W. Smith, Boots Smith Pipeline Services LLC, Boots Smith Oilfield Services LLC and Boots Smith Energy Inc. alleging breach of contract and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he has been damaged for not receiving his commissions for the year 2015 and 2016, in the total amount of $237,651.29.
The plaintiff holds Jason W. Smith, Boots Smith Pipeline Services LLC, Boots Smith Oilfield Services LLC and Boots Smith Energy Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed pay plaintiff's commissions within 15 days of his separation from employment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks payment of all earned commissions in the sum of $237,651.29; plus statutory penalties of $38,400; attorney’s fees; costs of these proceedings and all further relief to which he may be entitled.
