Jefferson Parish man blames Wendy's restaurant for fall

GRETNA – A man claims that he was caused to fall due to the lack of hand rail.

Rodney Jordy of Jefferson Parish filed a suit June 29 against Wendy's International LLC, doing business as Wendy's, in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place July 18, 2016, at a Wendy's at 300 Veterans Memorial Blvd. The suit states Jordy fell and struck his head due to the lack of a railing, ramp or handicap access for guests leaving the premises.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to provide a safe venue for guests, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by Reid P. Uzee of Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
