Livingston Parish man claims he was injured after being attacked by K-9

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that a K-9 attacked him.

Darrell H. Crane of Livingston Parish filed a lawsuit against Evanston Insurance Co., et. al. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was arrested Aug. 18, 2014, when he was accused of criminal activity. The suit states that sheriff deputy's K-9 attacked the plaintiff, injuring his leg permanently.

The defendant is accused of negligence for failing to control the dog and overall negligence in failing to protect the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Hobart O. Pardue Jr. of the Law Office of Hobart Pardue LLC in Springfield.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
