Woman claims she was injured after slipped at Walmart

GRETNA – A woman claims she was caused to slip and fall in a Walmart.

Vivian Alonso filed a suit against Walmart Louisiana LLC, doing business as Walmart, in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Sept. 1, 2016, at a Walmart in Harvey. The suit states that the plaintiff slipped and fell on liquid that had been left on the ground, causing injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to clean up the mess, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joseph S. Piacun and Thomas A. Gennusa II and Reid S. Uzee of Gennusa, Piacun & Ruli in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
