NEW ORLEANS — A woman is seeking damages due to allegedly falling from a steep step.
Francisca Cannet filed a lawsuit on Oct. 2 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Lakeview Landings LLC d/b/a The Blue Crab Restaurant & Oyster Bar and XYZ Insurance Company, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Nov. 20, 2016 at 7900 Lakeshore Dr. in New Orleans. The suit claims that the plaintiff was injured when she allegedly fell from a step that was allegedly very steep.
The defendant is accused of negligence for allegedly failing to make it clear that there was height difference between the steps and warn her about the danger.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Shelley Hammond of Hammond Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
