Woman claims she fell at Public Storage

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she fell at a Public Storage in New Orleans. 

Heidi Schirrman filed a lawsuit on Nov. 17 against Public Storage Company in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Nov. 28, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was leasing a storage unit from the defendant at the address of 3900 Tchoupitoulas St. when she was caused to slip and fall on a step that had no non-skid surface. The plaintiff's fall from the last step allegedly caused her injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the step was safe, failing to warn the plaintiff and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Dominick F. Impastato III of Frischhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
