GRETNA — The parents of a 5 year old who broke his arm when he fell off a rock climbing wall at school are suing Harahan Elementary School and the Jefferson Parish School Board.

Hillary C. Welsted Jr. and Wendy Welsted, individuals and on behalf of their minor son, filed a suit on Oct. 23 against Harahan Elementary School, the Jefferson Parish School Board and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs' minor son fell from a rock climbing wall at the school on Oct. 24, 2016 because he allegedly was not properly supervised. As a result, his bone was protruding from his arm and he had to undergo surgery.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Harold L. Ehrenberg in Metairie.
