Breaux Mart employee allegedly hit woman with shopping cart

GRETNA — A woman claims that she was injured when she was struck by a cart being pushed by a Breaux Mart Supermarket employee.

Theresa Sarpy filed a suit on Nov. 2 against Phoenix Insurance Company and Breaux Mart Supermarkets Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Nov. 5, 2016. The suit alleges the plaintiff was injured when she was struck by a cart, which a store employee was pushing down the aisle. 

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Raymond B. Landry of Mollere, Flanagan & Landry LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
