GRETNA – A couple claims that a reckless driver caused them pain and suffering, and now they are suing their own insurance company for underinsured driver coverage.

David M. Orange and Saralee Orange filed a suit on Nov. 6 against USAA General Indemnity Company in the 24th Judicial District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking additional damages for an incident that took place on Nov. 21, 2015. The suit states that David Orange was unloading luggage from his car at Louis Armstrong International Airport when he was struck by a vehicle owned by another driver.

The plaintiffs settled with the other driver and his insurance company, but now claim USAA General should provide additional coverage under their underinsured driver coverage.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by James G. Maguire in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
