Women allegedly injured by fall at Wyndham hotel

GRETNA — A woman claims that she slipped and fell at the Wyndham Garden New Orleans Airport Hotel.

Karen Horsey filed a lawsuit on Nov. 14, 2017 against Federal Insurance Company, OM Capital Nola LLC, Nola Hospitality LLC, Wyndham Hotel and Resorts LLC, Expotel Hospitality Services LLC, and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on April 30, 2017. The suit states that while the plaintiff was staying at the Wyndham Garden New Orleans Airport Hotel, she was caused to slip and fall due to a substance that had been left on the ground. As a result, she allegedly suffered severe, permanent and disabling injuries, including lost wages.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger or properly handling it.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Megan C. Kiefer of Kiefer & Kiefer in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
