New Orleans Pelicans blamed after woman allegedly hurt at stadium

NEW ORLEANS – A woman allegedly was injured when an item fell from the Smoothie King Center and struck her on the head.

Sharonne Grisby filed a lawsuit on Nov.  13 against New Orleans Pelicans NBA LLC, formerly known as the New Orleans Hornets NBA LLC, Tom Benson individually and as owner of the New Orleans Pelicans NBA LLC, The National Basketball Association, et al. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was trying to enter the stadium on Nov. 12, 2016 when an object fell from above and struck the plaintiff. She allegedly was knocked unconscious and was transferred to Tulane Medical Center for treatment.

The defendants are accused of negligence of management and failing to warn.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Rosalind Wright of the Law Office of Rosalind Wright.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
